Wanted: Wardrobe Space!
I often find myself giving away items I'd really love to keep. It's usually during one of my obligatory wardrobe de-cluttering session in order to make more room.
But I realllllly wanted to keep that garish sequin kimono! And those neon jumpers! You just never know when they'll be in Vogue again...
Having exhausted all of Pinterest's space saving solutions & admitting defeat with rubbish vacuum sacks, I turned my attention to what I hung my clothes on: a collection of generic shop-acquired black plastic hangers.
These inch wide uglies were unnecessarily talking up valuable space. It was time to intervene.
I found these super slim pack of 10 hangers in Primark for £4. I needed a fair few so my initial outlay was costly but I assured myself they we're definitely an investment.
The velvet material offers subtle grip keeping slipperier items in place. The flocked texture also prevents your clothes becoming misshapen and deters snags or pulls.
You can also secure your wears in the tradition way, using the spaghetti straps that are often stitched into clothing.
I'm reliably informed by my better half that these also make great shirt hangers for suit bags, doubling it's capacity for formal trips.
After just a few minutes into the laborious task of switching hangers in my wardrobe the space saved was evident.
By completion of both I had maximised the space by at least 40%, meaning I now have 40% more room for additional clothes!
...so I'm just off down the charity shop to buy back that kimono...
