The Blogger Made Me Buy It! (Tag)
I don't usually do tag posts but I've been finding these pretty interesting to read! Drop me the link below! I do like seeing what influences us as bloggers and readers! xxx
Who are your most influential bloggers? Who are the ones that you really rely on for reviews and swatches?
I like ectllymlrs as Lily is one of the few bloggers who will criticise a product when necessary even if it's a PR freebie - much respect for that as you don't often read negative text following an astrix! She appears down to earth, reviewing High Street brands too which makes her relatable to someone like me.
Do you buy a product solely as a result from one review from your favourite bloggers, or do you look for more reviews from others?
First of all I make sure it's something I would use/wear and that it would suit me - I like to go and see the item for myself as what one person finds fab, you might hate. It's pretty alluring when all posts are gushing about a particular product though which makes me intrigued!
What is your most favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?
The L'Oreal Gentle Eye Make-up Remover which will go on to save me lots of money as a pretty good dupe for my previous pricey remover. Model's Own Utopia is also a pretty gorgeous nail polish when I finally got my mitts on it after it constantly being out of stock.
What is your least favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?
I love Barry M and always rate them for their affordable, good quality polishes but last year I caved and bought the texturised paint. I loved the look of the paint on, but removing it was such a bugger that I haven't bothered with them since. Same goes for Caite Caviar Nails - the concept sounded good, but in reality - a lot of rigmarole and beads everywhere!
Name 5 products you have bought recently as a result of blogs.
I bought the Urban Decay Naked 3 pallet, I would have bought this anyway but it was the rave reviews of the original that make me notice UD in the first instance. I bought the L'Oreal Colour Riche Privee in Cheryl Cole's Barely Greige as I like nude lipsticks. I bought Nike Free's for the gym as a result of trainer reviews on a workout blog I read (comfy, and worth the price!) I would like to try the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder as I like a dewy finish, so that'll be on my 'to buy' list next time I go shopping.
Have you ever given into blogger hype? If so, which hype?
I have Muji storage for my make up!? I haven't purchased the Ikea Alex draws or a Diptyque candle yet though!! :)
Product wise: if I never read blogs then La Roshe Posay Effaclar Duo wouldn't have made it as my spot combating treatment of choice. And I think every blogger struggles to pass a Lush store without buying a bath bomb or two!
Have you ever avoided blogger hype? If so, which hype?
Super high end skincare trends I tend to let go over my head, I'm very happy with my cheapo Olay Beauty Fluid, so don't feel it's necessary to spend extortionate amounts on a variety of these products. I also think using so many different products can be counter productive.
Is everything you buy based on blogger reviews or are there some items you buy without checking out a review?
Have you ever fallen victim to blogger hype? Loved it? Hated it?
