AX Paris Blogger Event & Goodie Bag!

Last night Proud Cabaret in the City of London played host to the AX Paris AW bloggers party which I was kindly invited to.

The venue - which is modelled on a 1920's speakeasy - featured heavy velvet drapes, mirrors, rococo furnishings, plush purple booths and a smokey atmosphere not too dissimilar from a scene in Bugsy Malone.

Within 5 minutes of being in Proud I had a daiquiri in one hand and a bag of pic n mix in the other. So far so good!

We claimed a table decorated with AX Paris branded miniature cupcakes, cookies and PR contact cards. I then went off to have a snoop at the collection samples prior to the cabaret & burlesque show.

Black & oxblood with baroque detailing was the running theme. With sequins, lace and leather featuring heavily  - no wonder AX Pairs chose the similarly decadent Proud venue to showcase their AW collection.

Midi length dresses was also another highlight, with plenty of styles and textures to suit all tastes and preferences.

One of my favourites from the selection on display was this little faux leather number...I wonder why!?

Although the press samples were typical size 8s, the thing I love about AX Paris is that the brand caters to a dress size 26 under their equally fashionable Curve collection.

I'm a 14-16 so borderline between the two but it's great to know some of the slinkier styles are also available in more flattering cuts for those of us with hips & bums!

We took our seats for the show which was a mixture of saucy burlesque...

...Belly dancing...

...Fire eating...

...And general naughtiness!

The cocktails were plentiful, delivered to our table frequently by friendly, lingerie clad hostesses along with a selection of hot nibbles.

Mid-way through the show we were treated to a runway of some of the bloggers favourite pieces from the collection. You can check out the dresses on the AX Paris website here.

Just before 10.30pm it was time to leave - we collected our goodie bags and said goodbye to probably one of the best & well organised press events I've ever been to.

Our generous goodie bags (an AX Paris canvas tote) was stuffed with products from quality brands such as; Barry M, Lee Stafford, Teapigs, Neal & Wolf, Collection and more.

Also included was a 20% discount for AX Paris which I'm be sure will be used towards my festive party wardrobe.

My only regret is not being brave enough to say hello to more bloggers. Everyone already seemed to know one another and I was far too shy, even with the dutch courage of a passionfruit daiquiri or 3!

Thank you AX Paris and etailPR for organising such a wonderful evening for us bloggers!

Did you go to the party? What's your favourite item from the AX Paris AW13 collection?
