Review: Vaseline Cocoa Radiant Body Gel-Oil

I so wanted to like this: a super moisturising gel-come-oil that pleasantly whiffs of pure cocoa butter - it sounded right up my street.

Unfortunately the formula is just a horrible greasy mess. It takes an absolute age to sink in & resulted in me sitting on the floor starkers for a good 90 minutes before I could come in contact with any clothing/bedding or even the sofa!

Allowing the residue left on my hands after application to sink in was not an option either, as it looked as though I'd stuck my hands in a vat of chip fat - albeit much nicer smelling. Remember your holidays? Being on that sun lounger with a good paperback? ...and the soiled thumb-print pages after applying your SPF - it was on par slippieville with that!

Not fiddling with my phone or tablet for anything longer than 5 minutes is a no-no too, so after application my hands were pretty much immediately washed, so they didn't benefit from this product as they would with other moisturisers that can be rubbed in to dry.

By the time I went to bed and hour or so later my legs were still greasy to the touch, I climbed in and just hoped the oil wouldn't transfer to my bedding.

On a positive note when I woke up this morning my legs were super soft and moisturised. (& my sheets ok!) Perhaps application right before bed is the way to handle Vaseline Cocoa Radiant Gel Oil but as I find moisturising a bit of a chore as it is, I'll probably stick to my less messier creams and lotions.

The final result was actually quite good but being a slimy mess for 2 hours? It just wasn't worth it.
