Review: MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Stereo Rose

I have given up on foundation since discovering BB cream. Perhaps this is because my old make up routine consisted of a heck of a lot of products; primer, concealer, foundation, bronzer, blusher and then a highlighting power on top. Thats a LOT of layers!

At the end of my day my face wipes were often reminiscent of the removal rags featured on Snog, Marry, Avoid - Cringe. Now I try to wear as little products as possible and when a two-in-one wonder hits the beauty counters I'm first in line to give it a try...

The MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Stereo Rose was a bit of a nightmare to track down. It was always sold out in my local MAC store, although last Saturday I got lucky & managed to get my mitts on one.

I'd describe it as a coraly-rose tinted blush with built in highlighter. It's housed in typical MAC casing and although it's quite a pricey at £21.50, there is a fair amount of product in this medium sized pot to last you well into the year.

The dusky pink blush is perfect for all skin tones. You can lightly dust for a subtle blush if you're paler like me or build up the product on your brush for a deeper shade suitable for darker complexions or olive skin.

My favourite aspect of course is that it is two products in one. It leaves my regular Mac Blush and Body Shop Highlighter redundant  - but this is ok as not only will it save me money in the long run, it means there is less products caked on my face!

You only need a little dusting for day wear as it has an almost metallic finish to it and frosty cheekbones can look a bit over the top during the daylight hours.

I was silly and forgot to swatch the product on my hand for reference but MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Stereo Rose is worth a purchase.

...You'll just have to take my word for it! :)

  4. Everyones been on about this skinfinish. It looks so lovely to wear dusted over the cheekbones. Great post:)

  5. I'm the same, aim to keep less layer-age on my face. I've got a benefit blusher which looks similar-coralister I think it's called and that's also really brill at a similar price. Might give the mac a go next time though! Xx

  16. I'm so pleased to see a post about this! I've just bought the Skinfinish in Porcelain Pink (couldn't get the Stereo Rose anywhere)and I wasn't 100% on it's best use?! I've been using it as a highlighter to complement NYX's Angel blush. I think I'll try it as a blush in it's own right tomorrow! XX
