Christmas Outfit for under £100 - Bloggers Challenge!

My task: Find a complete festive outfit for under £100 from one of the many retailers featured on

I thought I'd be pretty good at this, as a self proclaimed thrifty fashionista I thought I had a keen eye for a bargain! ...but after undertaking this challenge I realise as I'm adding all my much needed accessories to my online basket, that my grand total at checkout has totted up to quite a wage denting sum!

I headed straight for good old Dorothy Perkins, as I've bought many a festive frock from the chain in the past. I do love dresses but I'll hold my hands up! - once I'm been seen in a dress once it will be making it's way to the charity shop quicker than the Facebook photo's of me wearing it can be uploaded & tagged!
Yes call me vain! ...but for this reason I like to mix and match pretty tops with various bottoms as I can imply that i'm wearing a whole new outfit on it's next outing by clever accessorising & by switching from a skirt to a pair of leather leggings.

For this reason my choice of top was this beautiful Gold Jaquard Peplum top, which is currently in the sale for £15.00. Peplum is still a huge trend and it's pretty cut out back & bow detailing would not look out of place on any December dancefloor!

I teamed the Peplum top with this glamorous Gold Sequin Skirt. Also in the sale at £20. The two items together at a quick glance look like a complete dress ...but I can feel safe in the knowledge that I'm unlikely to suffer the embarrassment that someone has turned up to the same party in the exact same outfit! Cringe!

So that's £35 spent, now I need some shoes. I went for these lovely Metal Toe Capped Courts. Another sale find marked down from £40.00 to a barganilious £32! Toe capped shoes are everywhere this AW and the metallic detailing matches my skirt and top combo perfectly. Very Kardashian don't you think!?

As it's Christmas, I really need to dress this outfit up with some bling, but also need something that contrasts with the gold. What better way than with a statement necklace! This Grey & pearl collar compliments my outfit perfectly and after the party I can jazz up any daytime tee and blazer combo with this gorgeous eye catcher! £18.00
Finally I need somewhere to house my phone, keys and cash. I found this lovely Black Multi Panelled Clutch for £22.00 ...but hang on a minute, that brings my grand total up to £107.00?! Eeek I've failed!

...Thats where discount code website came to my rescue! On the website they are currently offering 20% off at Dorothy Perkins on anything online full price, so a generous £8.00 is knocked off the RRP of my last two items combined at checkout.

Et Voila! It just goes to show, if you are shopper savvy there are plenty of savings to be had!

...and I have a quid left over for the cloakroom!
